Welcome to Hidden Pines!
Cutting your own Christmas tree is fun and easy. We are primarily a choose and cut tree farm, but we offer pre-cut trees if you are unable to cut-your-own tree. Follow these simple instructions.
1. Check in with a worker in a red vest at the overhead door (to the left as you are facing the barn). Our staff will be able to tell you what trees are available for sale this year.
2. If before Thanksgiving you can tag (reserve) your tree today and cut at a later time. All our "cut-your-own" trees are expected to be reserved before Thanksgiving. Don't worry though, we will have plenty of pre-cut trees from our farm and a Pennsylvania farm for you to choose.
3. When you return after Thanksgiving you will again report to a staff member who will verify your red tag stub and help you get a saw and a sled!
4. Go out in the field and locate the tree you had tagged. If you are having trouble finding your tree, the 6 digit number on your red ticket stub will help. All trees are in numerical order so use the other trees in the field to help you find your way.
5. Please match your tag # to your tree and verify it has your "sold" tag with your name on it.
6. Now the fun part.....cutting your tree!
7. Use the carpet square to keep your knees warm and dry.
8. Cut the tree as close to the ground as you can so you don’t lose much height. Be very careful, the saw is sharp! If you have problems cutting your tree, one of our assistants would be happy to help.
9. Place tree on the sled with the cut end toward the front.
10. Drag your sled back to the shop where we will shake out any loose needles and wrap your tree for free!
*Don’t forget your saw please.
11. You will pay for your tree in the gift shop. Take your red tag stub (or white one if you are purchasing a pre-cut tree). This will tell our cashier the price of your tree and they will verify that with the information in our binder.
