1. Please see one of our staff members wearing a red vest upon arrival. They will assist you with any questions!
2. Tagging a tree allows you to reserve a tree and keep it in the ground until you are ready to put it up in your home. We are open Thursdays-Sundays from Black Friday until December 20 for cutting your tree.

Here is how tagging works at Hidden Pines.
1. All trees available for sale will have a three-part red tag attached to it. The tag states the price and variety. ONLY trees with price tags attached are for sale. Unmarked trees are being saved for 2025 (or later). We need to limit the trees harvested each year to assure we have trees available in future years. There are about 750 trees tagged and available for purchase this year!
2. When you arrive at the farm we will give you a “Sold” tag and some pink flagging tape to hang in your chosen tree. The “Sold” tag will have your name and phone number written on it.
3. We do not take any deposit or payment for your tree at this time….you pay for your tree when you return to the farm to cut it.
4. You will then proceed to the fields to find your perfect Christmas tree.
5. When you find your tree you will tie your pink ribbon as close to the top of the tree as possible and then securely wire your “Sold” tag in the tree and tear the bottom two sections of the three-part tag off to bring back to us in the gift shop. (Pro tip: If you think you may want to keep looking at other trees once you have selected a tree, just hang your ribbon and “sold” tag but leave the bottom of the three-part tag on the tree. You can continue to look around the farm at other trees and if you find one you think you like better than your first choice simply go back to the first tree and remove your tag and ribbon and place it on the new tree. (PLEASE do not tear off the bottom of the three-part tag until you are sure it’s your final choice.)
6. When you bring your tag stubs back to us in the barn we will record your tree number in our binder and then give the bottom tag back to you. This becomes your claim check for when you come back to cut your tree.
7. You can come back to cut your tree anytime during regular hours. Please click on the “Hours” tab in our website to see the full season operating hours.
8. Cutting your tree: Remember we are a “cut-your-own” farm. We supply the saw (sorry no chainsaws allowed per our insurance carrier) and a drag sled. Please be prepared to cut your own tree and drag it back to the barn or bring someone along that can help you. We have very limited staff and while we can help you if necessary, there may be a long wait during our busiest times.
9. Getting your tree home: Pickup trucks are great for hauling your tree. SUVs also work great if you can lower your back seats to slide the tree in. Smaller trees can sometime fit in trunks. Tying a tree to the roof of your vehicle is a last resort. Ratchet straps work great if you have them (we sell them here too). Bungee cords DO NOT WORK! We will supply twine for you to tie your tree down if you prefer. This works best if you have a luggage rack. If you really need help with tying your tree, we can help, but again this may cause some delays during our busiest times.
